2 The People is a Baton Rouge-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on a mission to empower families by connecting them to the community resources they need to thrive. Rooted in the core values of Equity, Education, and Encouragement, we believe that no family should struggle simply because they weren't aware that help was available. Through community resource events, collaborative partnerships with local organizations and state agencies, and hands-on navigation support, we walk alongside families from asking the first question to completing the last application. From educational programs and financial counseling to health and wellness services and job training, 2 The People is committed to improving quality of life and building self-sufficiency for every family we have the privilege of serving. Because when families are strong, communities thrive.

Our Board

Victoria Brock

Victoria Brock is the President and Founder of 2 The People, a community-centered organization dedicated to advocacy, outreach, and expanding access to resources for families and underserved communities. She brings strong organizational leadership and operational expertise to her work, supporting sustainable, people-centered initiatives. In addition, Victoria is a volunteer doula with Mary’s Hands Network, where she provides compassionate, culturally responsive support to mothers and families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Her work is rooted in maternal health equity, informed advocacy, and meaningful community collaboration. Victoria is deeply committed to elevating lived experiences and advancing solutions that improve Black maternal health outcomes.

Founder and President

Chanita Vazquez

Chanita Vazquez is a proud Baton Rouge native whose life has been shaped by a deep commitment to service. A United States Navy veteran with seven years of active duty and two tours in Iraq, she continues to serve as a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy Reserve. Academically, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Southern University A&M and an MBA in Project Management from Columbia Southern University. In her professional life, Chanita serves the State of Louisiana as an Occupant Protection and Public Engagement Program Coordinator with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, is a certified Car Seat and CarFit Technician, and volunteers with the Junior League of Baton Rouge. As Vice President of 2 The People, she brings that same lifelong dedication to service to empowering families across the Greater Baton Rouge area.

Patsy Wilkerson

Patsy Wilkerson is a graduate of Southern University with a Bachelors' in Education and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from the Bible Institute of Los Angeles (BIOLA) in Mirada, California. She brings over 30 years experience and expertise as a trainer, executive coach, organizational Development Consultant, retreat facilitator, and conference speaker. She spent 10 years at the Los Angles Times newspaper in management and training roles. After leaving The Times, she served in a variety of Human Resources and Organizational Development roles. Seven of those years, were spent at Jafra Cosmetics International, headquartered in Southern California, with offices in 20 countries around the world. She returned home to Baton Rouge in 2004 to help care for her elderly parents. Currently, she serves as an associate minister at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Baton Rouge and a learning and organizational development consultant for Louisiana state agencies and those serving children and families experiencing trauma.

Yolanda Williams is passionate about seeing people healed and empowered in every area of life, and in the pursuit of purpose and peace. She joined 2 the People after volunteering at their inaugural resource fair, where she witnessed firsthand the passion and impact the organization brings to the community. Yolanda is proud to support 2 the People’s vision of bridging the gap between families and the resources they need.

Big ideas, real impact.

Plugged-In: A Community Resource Fair

In 2025, we hosted our inaugural Plugged-In: A Community Resource Fair. We welcomed over 140 moms and children and were able to provide them with essential hygiene items, clothing, a meal and childcare for ages six and under. We were blessed to have more than 30 community partners attend and offer free and reduced cost resources to women and children across the Greater Baton Rouge Area.
